Darwoods’ Anniversary celebrations to raise money for Make-A-Wish Foundation

Letting specialists Leaders – of which Darwoods are a part - are delighted to be celebrating their 30th Anniversary this year. They will be hosting special celebrations in each of their branches, including Darwoods in St Albans, on Friday, 21st June.

Landlords, tenants, local businesses and the general public are all warmly invited to come along to Darwoods and join in the celebrations which will take place from 12-4pm.

As part of the festivities, Darwoods will be raising money for Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK, the charity that grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions, such as sixteen year Luke from St Albans who is living with Epilepsy and who recently had his wish to visit Disney Paris granted by the charity.

There are currently 20,000 children and young people in the UK fighting a life-threatening condition and this year Make-A-Wish will grant over 1,100 wishes. The charity needs to raise £7 million in 2013 to achieve this and receives no government funding or lottery grants – so every donation counts. 

The team at Darwoods are having a cake sale, face painting and a raffle in aid of Make-A-Wish. Prizes include a Bare Essentials Girlfriend Party voucher for a pampering evening for 6 people, a selection of treatments at Barnet College Spa and a £50 voucher for a meal for two at Cote Brasserie.

Darwoods’ Senior Branch Manager, Peter Moate, says: “We hope as many people as possible will come along and join in our celebrations. We would love to commemorate this occasion by raising as much as we can to help more children like Luke fulfill their wish.”
