Darwoods sponsor Dave’s 100 mile walk in memory of grandson Archie

 Archie
Darwoods Lettings are pleased to be supporting one of their contractors, Dave Pyle, who sadly lost his 18 month old grandson, Archie, to Mitochondrial Disorder in December 2011.
Dave, along with a group of friends and family, will be taking part in ‘Archie’s Last Walk’ in April which will take them 100 miles to 15 London football clubs to raise as much money as possible for The Children’s Mitochondrial Disease Network, the UK’s only registered charity dedicated to providing information and support for all Mitochondrial Disorders. It has no paid staff and is supported by voluntary donations.
Says Dave: “Archie was diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disorder in July 2011 and sadly lost his brave fight against the disease on 9th December 2011. This is a rare condition and at the moment there is no cure or treatment available for it. We are doing this walk to raise awareness and money for research into Mitochondrial Disorder in the hope that there will one day be a cure for this condition.”
The walk will take place over three days, starting at Watford FC on 25th April, going to Barnet, Tottenham, Arsenal, Leyton Orient, Dagenham & Redbridge, West Ham, Charlton, Millwall, Crystal Palace, AFC Wimbledon, Chelsea, Fulham, QPR, and finishing at Brentford FC on 28th April.
Peter Moate, Senior Manager of Darwoods Lettings says: “Dave has worked as a contractor for us for many years and we are pleased to be lending him our support for this worthy cause. We hope that he and the rest of the walkers will succeed in raising a substantial sum of money for The Children’s Mitochondrial Disease Network and wish them all the best of luck.”
